Today I have made some significant changes to the site rules, it is important that everyone reads and understands the site rules. Please take a moment to read through the site rules located here: http://www.ibpdownlo...?act=boardrules

The biggest change is the way in which we deal with signatures. We are now allowing you to provide a link in your signature to your site. This applies to members in any user group other than those which reside in the gamer user group. The rules for signatures and signature links are as follows:
  • A user has to be registered for a minimum of three days

  • A signature may only contain one hyperlink
    • This hyperlink must be a text based link and not an image, banner or graphic
    • Any link provided in your signature must be to the site that you used when you registered, if your site moves to a new URL you must reflect this in your profile.

    • Links to sites other than your own will be considered a violation of the rules
  • A user has to have a minimum post count of 5 posts
  • A user must not reside in the "Gamers" group (The users must be a Webmaster, Advanced Member or a Subscriber)
  • Signature links must be 'direct links', no redirects of any sort including but not limited to URL shorteners
  • All links must be to sites that are considered 'socially acceptable' this means they may not link to sites such as but not limited to the following:
    • Adult Related
    • Warez/P2P File-sharing Related
    • Gambling/Alcohol Related
  • Signatures must be a maximum of four lines in length at normal font size
  • Signatures may include text styles such as Bold, Italic and Underlining
  • Signatures are a privilege and as such the privilege may be removed at any time without prior notice
Whilst links in signatures are allowed now, this rule will be reviewed by the staff sometime late in December. It is important that you do not abuse this rule otherwise this ruling may be reversed.

Having a link in your signature is an excellent way for you to get exposure to your site without any cost incurred. You may post as often as you like around the forum (providing you are not spamming) and this will increase the exposure to your link.

All staff members have been made aware of these new rules, specifically the rules regarding signatures and as such they will be monitoring signatures carefully.

Any questions regarding this new rule or regarding any of the rules then please do not hesitate to ask.

I think you need to be more specific Leon.

" Any link provided in your signature MUST be to the site that you used when you registered. Links to sites other than your own will be considered a violation of the rules"
No signature

well, in that case i'll modify my sig back to its original state.

(i missed that part... apologies.)

EDIT: it seems my sig has already been changed by an admin or mod. it would've been nice if someone had simply asked me to change it.

Hello Moxie

I thought it was funny last night when I came in and read your post but there was no signature. I apologise if we caused you any offence this is a new ruling and there are likely to be teething problems initially and thank you for raising the point. As a staff maybe we need to look more closely at how to deal with the new ruling in the first instance.

Sorry, when I came to read your post I never noticed a signature. As a general rule of thumb we will notify people of problems with their signatures, profiles or posts by way of a PM. But we are all human and occasionally we may forget to do so.

Sorry, I must of overlooked this. There are bound to be loopholes at first.
