It has been asked by a user if there is another planned reset of arcade scores. I have no plans of resetting at this time. No, not because I am in 1st place, but because the scores were reset 98 days ago. I am open for suggestions, and will use this topic for a survey. There were 158 users online today. After 75 responses are recieved, I will follow the majority decision. Now for the fine print. I will hold this survey open for 10 days. If there are not 75 responses by January 17, Midnight MST, the masses will have spoken by their silence (see signature for my feelings on this). I will post an announcement in the arcade so that all users will be aware of the survey. Users of less than 2 weeks as members are ineligible. I hope all think this is fair.

i am open to resetting every 3 months as it keeps members more in tune with the arcade if they have something to aim for, i dont think anyone likes a site that never resets the scores as your chances of getting a trophy are close to zero

I think every 90 days is fair. It's consistent and it gives others a chance to score some high points that replace non active members on the leader board. If it's at a certain time ( say 3 months or 6 months ) then there is no question of doing it just because so and so is not or is in the lead. We clear our scores every 90 days at my site and there are far fewer members at my site than there are here. :-$

My vote --- clear the scores

then clear them again in April

All of your feedback is great, but I was kind of hoping for a little more input from the masses than 1 comment. It shows me that they really don't give a ****, therefore, at this time, the decision is to still leave the poll open until the 17th. At that time, if indeed it is my decision, there will be 2 resets a year. One on the vernal equinox, and the other on the autumnal equinox. I am quite disappointed at the response, but I am not surprised. As we say here in the US, if you don't vote, then don't bitch.

Furthermore, if it will make anyone happy, I will delete my scores. Many of them were inherited from Eric1, Rebrovic, and JamesBonde when they were banned. To go even further, I would be willing to trade all my 1st place trophies and my 2+ billion gil for $20 US.

Reset scores to give new members a chance to shine

Do mine every month or two for that reason but never the Halls of Fames so no one loses the really top scores (a)

I am new to the site and it does not bother me that someone else has the high score so am happy with 2 resets a year. I have been playing the games here to see whether I want to download them onto my site. If I could not beat the highscore it was because I was not as good - not because the policy here was wrong. 2 resets a year opens it out enough, I personally do not think 4 times a year is necessary.

90 days seems a bit excessive. Maybe every 120 days. Three times a year isn't bad.

The time has come. m This poll is now closed. My decision is final. The masses have spoken by their silence. There were a total of 15 replies. Four of them were from staff, two of them were from me. That leaves 9. Three were from Munnster. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the seven members that participated:

You seven, may contact me anytime you feel the need to. I respect the fact that you took time to respond. As for the rest of the users, don't complain about resets.

As in my previous post, I will reset twice a year. The first will be March 21, 2010, the Vernal Equinox. The next reset will be September 21, 2010, the Autumnal Equinox. I believe it was Cool who suggested that the HOF scores be left intact, and I am in agreement with that. No matter how many trophies a user has, the HOF score is always a target.

I will have to check with Tezza, but I am pretty sure that I will need to shut the arcade down for a short period of time, 15 to 30 minutes for the reset. This outage will occur 30 minutes prior to midnight MST on the designated days.
